Pretty & Polished July 2014 Beauty Box
Hey dolls! I hope you all are enjoying the weekend. I planned to have this post up yesterday, but ended up having fun with a few friends and then went out for a little shopping. I only went to the mall to purchase a small crossbody purse for an upcoming trip, but of course I had to go to a few stores. I did find a cute mustard crossbody and a few other things that may make a Fashion Refined appearance soon.
The Pretty & Polished July 2014 Beauty Box features two exclusive polishes and two minis. It also includes a nail brush, foot soak, a 3D nail accessories, water decals, and a file.
Pretty & Polished Bioluminescence is a blue jelly with sparse blue glitter that glows in the dark. The formula was decent and did not drag upon adding more coats. Three coats were used for the photos below. The nail line was not as visible in real life. Top coat was also applied.
Pretty & Polished Hubble Trouble is a black microglitter filled with iridescent glitter in various shapes and sizes. The black base didn’t appear to be very buildable, so I layered one coat over Cult Nails Fetish. It applied nicely and the glitter was dense. Top coat was applied to smooth the glitters out.
Pretty & Polished Mintabie is a raspberry jelly filled with purple, blue, and iridescent glitter in various sizes. Initially, I applied two coats of Mintabie. The jelly base was on the thick side and the glitter was so heavy that it started to clump. I then decided to layer one coat of Mintabie over Barielle Barefoot in Bermuda. The polish looks much more appealing layered in my book. I recommend applying Mintabie very carefully to minimize flakies sticking up. Top coat was used in the photos below.
Pretty & Polished Nova Say Nova is a multichrome shimmer that shifts between purple, brown, and orange. This was my favorite shade from the box. The formula was great and it applied evenly in two coats.
