Advantages Of Using Social Media

Coming to the end of one experiment, as I mentioned recently, does not mean coming to the end or not taking advantage of other social media networks. We all know how important the Internet has become for many, especially the younger generation, and that most seem to have an Internet ready smart phone in their hands almost all the time. Rather, we should continue to experiment and not leave anything practicable out. The idea is to get as much out in the open, before the general public, as is humanly possible in order to attract, to draw clicks onto our websites. I don’t know how many articles have been written about using social networks to promote, but this is not one of them!

Rather it is the beginning of a new experiment, a new means of getting this blog better known. It is a new experiment to see whether the power of Twitter is all that it claims to be, and whether promoting – not through promoted Tweets which have to be paid for – by an active re-posting of older posts which might have slipped through the net at some time or another.

I have a blog with almost two thousand posts on it. The chances of someone being interested in articles or posts which came out a year ago, for example, is great, but the chances of someone finding those posts is small. Not many are prepared to use the Search box to draw out what they want to see, what they want to read. Google and other search engines are all well and good, but overwhelmed with entries: getting onto the front page of a Google search has more to do with SEO than anything else, more to do with the right keywords. What I hope to do with this random posts Tweeted experiment is bring older posts back to the front of people’s minds by having them reappear.

I’m changing my Twitter over time anyway, concentrating myself more on books and publishing than I did before, so this seems like a good time to catch up, to enhance, to experiment with all types of posts. The experiment began yesterday, a new Tweet every two hours sent out automatically. How it goes, only time can tell.

Love & Kisses, Viki.
