A Kindergarten Smorgasboard Tasty Treat Tuesday: Bagel Pizza!

It's Tuesday so that means it's time for Tasty Treats Tuesday!
This week I am featuring a fun and simple snack that can be made at school or at home! Anyone with kids at home this summer, this one is for you!

Bagel pizza! Who doesn't love pizza? And what kiddo doesn't love making their own pizza?
We did this snack when we were learning the letter P. P for pizza. It's perfect for P. But it could be useful for a very basic introduction to fractions also. Or even symmetry. Pizza and common core! A perfect combination! See, pizza is a useful and beneficial tool to learning....not to mention my most favorite food ever. Serioulsy, pizza for dinner every night would be fine with me!
You will need: bagels (1 half for each child) pizza sauce mozzerella cheese pepperonis (or any topics!)
Step 1: spread the sauce! I give each 'stache a bagel, plastic knife and a dish of sauce and let them go to town. You can tell this is early in the year just by their fine motor skills!

Step 2: add the cheese. Again, I gave them a little container of cheese and let them go!
(Those little containers are from Ikea! 99 cents for 6. Guess where I'll be going again this summer?!)

Step 3: Add pepperonis.

Step 4: Bake! I have a toaster oven in my classroom so I put them in the oven at 400 degrees and baked for 5 minutes. I highly recommend a toaster oven for your classroom. We use ours a lot! A co-worker even baked a cake for silent E week!!!!!! How cool?!

And finally, you eat your pizza!!!!!!
