It's Okay #17
It's okay...to be completely exhausted. We had two thanksgivings and both days messed up Violet's schedule which meant one night she was awake until 12:30am and then just not sleeping well the other night.
It's okay...to get slightly annoyed when well meaning people try to help you parent. Just put her down for a nap they say, just put her to bed early they say....ummmm I know my kid. It's not that simple.
It's okay...that I'm really bummed our family pictures were canceled. It rained so no outdoor photos. I'm extra sad because the rescheduled dates don't work with our busy December schedule so I'm not sure what to do. I spent the money on outfits and I'd like to get use out of them. Did I mention that I was having a fabulous hair day?
It's okay...that V and I had a sweet moment last night around 12am. I was singing to her the song I have sang since she was just born. I sing "pika pika pika pikachu" to the tune of the enchanted tiki room song from Disney. She has started singing it with me and it just makes my heart melt. Then we made her nenes do dance movies. Her little giggle just made me a mushy pile of mama goo.
It's okay...that my morning sucks. V is so overtired we had to cancel a play date and I had to pull an ornament hook out of Violet's cheek about 10 minutes ago. Add it to the list of things I never thought I would have to do as a mama. She turned towards me screaming and it was hooked to the inside of her poor cheek. I feel like the worst mama ever. I thought I had all the hooks high enough on the tree.
It's okay...that I may be drinking boat loads of diet coke to get through this day.
