Emergency Sprinkles! Glass Locket Necklace

So after making the quick coffee bean locket last week for coffee lovers, I was lamenting the fact that whole coffee beans smell wonderful, but it’s not like you could just open up your locket and enjoy one in case of an emergency. I mean, I suppose you could, but eating a bean is not the same as having coffee. So on a sweeter note, I put together this version for candy and sweets lovers: emergency sprinkles!

I was inspired by a metal-stamped necklace I spotted over at I Can Make: Metal Stamped Jewelry back in the spring. The idea is the same, but I’m showing you a whole different way to put it together (and no hammers required for this one). I did employ a scrap of vinyl, so to get the full effect you will want to cut (or order) a 1-inch “EMERGENCY” decal, but it would still be plenty cute without one! Here’s what you will need:

There are a couple affiliate links here, which means that if you decide to order these supplies, it benefits my blog at no extra cost to you. You can also just get more detail about the products. :)

Assembly is easy! Just apply your vinyl decal to the front side of the locket (I’m not going to go into detail on that, because there are literally THOUSANDS of tutorials out there for cutting and applying vinyl and I’m trying to keep this post short).

Add the sprinkles, and string the chain. At first I filled it all the way, but then my “emergency” decal didn’t show very well. So I filled to just below the word.

Close the chain with a jump ring. At 36 inches, this will slip easily over your head, so a clasp isn’t technically necessary.

Then, just slip it on, and enjoy wearing such a fun piece!

So, what would you fill your locket with? I’ve done coffee beans and now sprinkles – do you have an addiction that you’d love to show off inside a glass locket?
