Philosophy Skin Care Company: 'Have a cherry Christmas' & Tinsel Town' Shower gels

I know I have already raved about how much I love Philosophy's Lipgloss (which can be read here) but shower gels are rather different.

You can find Philosophy's website here. They are currently having a 50% sale on all of their Christmas items. (January 2013) The two items I am showing you here are included in that sale. Though I only use these as shower gels, the bottles do state that they can also be used as a shampoo & bubble bath. Neither I have tried.

The first of the two shower gels is 'Have a cherry Christmas'. This is one of their normal sized bottles at 480ml and these usually retail at £14. This is quite a steep price for something that has no real effect on your skin, like a cleanser for example. Which is why I purchased this at half price and not the full price. I just can't justify spending that amount on a shower gel.

'Have a cherry Christmas' has a lovely iridescent look to it, which was the first thing that attracted me to it. I would say the next thing was then the smell but Philosophy's products are always sealed so if you are buying this for the first time it really is pot luck whether you will like it or not. The only way I can describe the smell of this is by saying 'go smell a 'bake-well tart' because that is literally what it smells like. It is very very sweet and the smell lingers even after you have washed, leaving a sparkle behind for a few seconds until it is all thoroughly washed off.

The thing that attaracted me initially to Philosophy's products is their simple design and the lovely 'Philosophys' that come with printed on the front of each product. Which reminded me of the very similar Treacle Moon products, which are near enough exactly the same but for only a fraction of the price.

As you can see in the above photos, the gel comes out in very shimmery, fine glitter formula and does make your body shimmer whilst you are bathing.

This particular product 'Tinsel Town' I purchased with a lip gloss in a set that I linked at the beginning of the post. This is the small version of their shower gels and is 120ml and are usually only found in gift sets.

The smell is called 'crisp berry'. This is a sweet berry smell with a fine hint of mint that gives a very refreshing and cooling effect when used, exactly the same as the lip gloss.

Again, a very shimmery shower gel but that was what attracted me to it.
I adore both products, very much. They look fantastic in the corner of my bath & they make your skin feel amazing afterwards. My biggest gripe is the price, as it makes me not want to use them, which is pointless. Would I buy their products again? Yes but probably when they are on sale, if I have vouchers or if I feel like treating myself to something a little special.
What's the highest price you would pay for a shower gel?
