Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas…

When all through New York City, the sights seemed to glisten.

The mannequins were styled in the windows with care,

passerby’s couldn’t help but to stop and stare.

My mom and I nestled in our J.Crew coats,

stopped by the Bergdorf Goodman windows and cleared our throats.

‘For the scene before us made us giddy and gloat.

There was soldiers on horses,

Elephants, giraffes and lions ignoring gravities force,

and glam girls having their cake.

Just across the street, Tiffany & Co made all the cab drivers brake.

Who could blame them?

All done up with those little blue boxes, gems.

The windows ablaze with a replica of The Plaza hotel,

That would make little Eloise proud to dwell.

As we ventured home, passing the actual Plaza, New York seemed to glimmer,

as if to say, all that you see here, is the perfect canvas for you, a dreamer.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night (from my girls and I)!
