I love Apple. If you know me, you know that I have a strong attachment to my phone, my Mac, and my iPads. There, I said it and it’s out! That’s why when I first posted the Acer tablet preview, it was so hard for me to get into it. It wasn’t even on for over 2 weeks. Given we were road tripping at that time, but still. And then something happened. After almost giving up on it, I decided to give it another shot. I brought it into work, where we use a different tablet on a daily basis (which I hate, and if you want to know what it is, ask me on social media ), knowing that I’ll have time to play with it there. I started by changing the background image from abstract grey squares to an image of Central Park and the Upper West Side where I used to live. Think it helped? Have we met?
Then for a while I stuck to the social media apps, like Instagram and Twitter. The tablet is just as fast as my phone, and I could easily type anything I needed.
Soon I discovered Newssstand, and after adding a few favorite topics here and there (I am going to make you guess which ones), I became a devoted reader and sharer. When I read something I like, it always goes up on my Twitter, and for some reason the way Newsstand is set up, makes it so easy and effortless for me. I also get several free articles per month per certain publication (like New York Times, or Financial Times) without having to subscribe to them.
I am still looking for a good photo editing app, giving audible a try, and wondering about all the ebook apps, like Play books, which unlike Kobo has free books.
