My Quilty Bucket List

Welcome to my stop on The Quilty Bucket List blog hop, organized by Stacey of The Tilted Quilt. If there's anything that's easy for me to write about, it's all the quilts I would like to make ... someday ... in the future. LOL. A future that stubbornly never arrives or becomes present day. It's always, "Well, maybe after this next deadline ..." or "Maybe this summer ..." So putting this list out there is definitely a good thing for me. Maybe blogging about it will make it so!
A true scrap quilt. I have massive scrap piles. I have got to start using them! I would love to make something really scrappy in the extreme—and big, so that it uses tons of scraps. But what should the design be? Half square triangles? Postage stamp quilt? String quilt? Hmmm, so many possibilities. (The one above is by Becky at My Fabric Obsession.)

A selvage project. I've been collecting selvages for years. They're kind of like my trophies—they're the stuffed animal heads on the wall of sewing my room. : ) One of these days I need to put them to use! (The blocks shown are by Di at Random Thoughts Do or Di.)

A simple, two-color, all solids quilt, like this one from American Patchwork and Quilting. I feel like that would be a good challenge for me.

Quilts for my daughters' beds. How sad is it that I've been wanting to do this since I started quilting, and it still hasn't happened? But it will happen, I promise, girls! I've been hoarding this pile of Joel Dewberry's Heirloom for my 4-year-old's room ever since it came out.

Tula Pink's Butterfly quilt. I can't help it, I would love to have this quilt for myself. I think it would make me happy, especially when I'm sitting on the couch in the dead of winter with a sinus infection (like right now!) As usual, I would probably have to make this design my own in some way, but I will have it! (Pattern available here.)

So there you have it—what is probably just a small portion of my quilty bucket list. Maybe I'll make a goal to finish at least one of these in the next year. It's always good to have a goal, right? If you want to share your goals, keep following along with the Quilty Bucket List blog hop (links below), and visit The Tilted Quilt to link up your own bucket list! Good luck! And thank you to Stacey for having me on the hop!
