Artistic Synergy: Abdul Kircher

One of the things that is catching my eye lately is the personalities behind the camera the stories they have to share. This brings me to photographer Abdul Kircher. I just discovered his work a few weeks ago and just began delving more into his own story.

He was born in Berlin and is now based in New York City. His photographs have a raw quality in capturing the pulse of the streets and a personal depth much in the vein of Nan Goldin. Abdul himself has an interesting look as well. In a recent article I read that his eyes began to change colors when he was young, thus giving him one blue and brown. Makes for an interesting gaze toward the camera lens. Lately, he’s become a subject in front of the camera, as he’s now represented by Re:quest models in NY for special commissions.

Here are some photos of his interesting and multi layered style, which is definitely reminiscent of the early 90s style that I’ve come to find in almost every area of new generation.
