An unexpected affair leads to mind-blowing harmony in this Sea Breeze novel from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines.
Jason is sick of living in his rock star brother’s shadow. So when he ships off to Sea Breeze, Alabama, he’s looking for a much deserved escape and a chance to blow off some envious steam. Falling for the local bad girl was definitely not the plan. But as the new duo enjoys some naughty fun in the Alabama sun, Jason learns that even though Jax is the musician in the family, he’s not the only brother who can rock someone’s world.

Jason is tired of being Jax's shadow and being told what his future is. His mother has it all planned out for him, not just his career but the woman he will marry as well. Jax can't change how Jason is seen by the public.

Jason is not okay with any of this. Jason needs a break from the pressures of his mother, brother, and school. Jason decides to come back to Sea Breeze and chill out for a week.
Jess is tired of her loser boyfriend who cheats on her and treats her like crap. She is feed up and breaks it off for the final time.
When Jason is rolling into Sea Breeze in Jax's Porsche he sees a girl running from the woods. She looks like she is running for her life and being chased. Jason assists with a quick get away and quickly finds out that she was being chased by her deranged ex-boyfriend. Granted she just beat the crap out of his truck with a baseball bat but he deserved it. Jess was done being a punching bag and doormat. She wanted more from life.
Jason finds out who the mystery girl is and finds ways to work himself into her life. Jess is trying to be more for herself. Going to school and getting a sewing gig instead of waiting tables is a great start. Jason was not looking for love and Jess was not looking to be rescued but that is exactly what happened.
So in the description for this you see that Jess is supposed to be a bad girl but honestly she is not bad. She is a flirt and party girl but as far as I can tell she has only slept with 2 guys before Jason came into her life, so slut is off that list. She gets out of trouble by flirting or her Mom helps her out of the situation but she is not a BAD girl. My definition of a bad girl would include drugs and lots of men. Jess is caring and sweet even though she shows the world another side of herself.
In this story both the characters were in the same place with the relationship. It was just for FUN. Nothing more. But both characters found themselves falling fast for more than sex and fun. I think that Jason needs the feisty girlfriend and Jess definitely needs the boyfriend that wants to love her completely for who she is. I feel that these 2 characters fit well together.
I like that Jess did not take the money from Jason's Mom to end things with him and I like that Jess did not ask for Jason's help with her situation. Jess wanted to fix her life on her own and not have Jason fix it for her with money. She was independent and did what she had to in order to help her mother and survive. I like that Jason stepped in as soon as he found out the truth about Jess's situation and took on the challenge of fixing it. It showed that Jason really loves her and wants her as part of his life.
