TUESDAY TIPS: INSPIRATION FOR YOUR NEXT POST

Pinterest
One of my main sources of inspiration is Pinterest. I’ve been using the platform for years, even before I had a blog. I love looking at other people’s pins and instantly repinning whatever inspires me. I recently did this post on autumn trends, which was inspired by Pinterest. Seeing the overflow of streetstyle images from international fashion weeks made me notice a couple of trends. A simpler post would be a list of your favourite outfits/recipes/interiors as seen on Pinterest.

Brainstorm
I’m probably not the only one who doesn’t always feel like brainstorming. It can be time consuming and you might not even come up with something useful. Keep it simple and work with subjects you already like, or something that’s on your mind at the moment. Maybe you saw something on the news or read something on your favourite blog. Think about what insights you have on the subject and just start writing.

Roundups
Maybe you’ve written a few posts on the same subject or you keep on wearing the same item. Boring? Not at all! Roundups are great if you want to show the bigger picture. I like doing a ’5 ways to wear it’ sometimes (example here and here). Outfit posts are great to look at, but it’s these type of posts that are actually helpful. It shows your readers why an item is worth the investment.

Check your traffic
So you probably have Google Analytics installed on your blog and know where to find your current visitors and monthly visitors. But if you click on Behavior > Site Content and then look at all the posts you ever made, you’ll get a better picture of what your audience loves. It’s always very tempting to just write whatever you feel like, but it’s also good to know what people love about your blog. If it’s a particular subject they’re interested in, try coming up with posts that are fitting. In my case my most visited posts are the ones including photography tips, so I might have to write my next Tuesday Tips on that!

Leave It
If you’re feeling completely uninspired, don’t focus on it too much. It’s not the end of the world. Sometimes it’s better to step back from your computer and do something else. Hit the gym, meet up with a friend, do your groceries. Inspiration strikes at the strangest moments. Maybe it’s something you discussed with your friend, or something you saw on the streets. It really doesn’t have to be that hard. I believe the best posts come from small and simple ideas anyway!

If there’s any specific questions that are left unanswered, let me know! Keep your eyes peeled for plenty more tips to come.
