Paris Picks: Part Two.

As we went to Paris with Birchbox, we met with a couple of French brands while we were there. This allowed us to discover and experience the brands in their boutiques, which was such a beautiful way to get to know the products. We were treated to a couple of picks, too, so I thought I would introduce them in their very own post…

Caudalie
Our first stop was the Caudalie boutique in the Marais area of Paris. I’ve been a Caudalie fan for as long as I remember, with the beloved Beauty Elixir being one of the first skincare products I truly fell in love with around three years ago now. Caudalie offer some of the most incredible products, both when it comes to skincare and body so I was pretty much in my element in the store.
We were given the opportunity to pick up our own products, so I went for a mix. Of course, I immediately reached for the Beauty Elixir (£32) because it’s just amazing. I literally adore this stuff; it calms, cools, revives, hydrates and seems to clear up blemishes like no other! I use it both morning and night (and throughout the day because I answer to no one) and even keep a bottle on my desk because I love it so. I also got the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Complexion Correcting Serum (£45) – I really can’t resist anything that aims to help the tone of my skin. I’ve already incorportated this stuff in to my evening routine; it’s light, sinks in instantly and doesn’t feel rich on my skin. Does it help with the acne scarring and uneven tone? Only time will tell…
I also got the Caudalie Divine Candle (£24) for the winter evenings, I just adore this scent!

Huygens
Huygens are a really great French brand that we “discovered” in Paris, they’re currently only stocked on the Birchbox website (for us UK kids) which obviously makes them all elusive and underground! The brand have a really cool concept, where you select your own fragrance when you go in to the boutique. You can then have this added to the products in store, so you pretty much custom make your own product with a handpicked essential oil. We had a little help choosing our scents, which was an experience all on its own, and then watched as the team made them up. If you’re ever in Paris, definitely head to the boutique as it’s 1. beautiful 2. a great experience.
I chose a rosewood fragrance, which is odd because I’m not a rose person, and went for an unbelievably good body scrub which has ground apricot stones and almond to make what may well be the best scrub ever! I am just smitten with this – it leaves my limbs feeling and looking so healthy. I also went for a dry oil, as we all know the French do dry oils like no other, and between the two I have one seriously awesome bodycare routine!

What do you think of my second “haul”?
