Five Things Friday

Good Morning!

I’m so happy it’s Friday as it’s been a doozy of a week! It started with a trip to the emergency vet with Penny and a few trips since then. The good news is she’s on the mend, but she’s been diagnosed with a hormonal disorder and she’ll have to get monthly injections. We’re just happy some of our issues with her might be solved! And, I got some practice with middle of the night wake up calls. See- even planning has it’s positive side.

As always, let’s shift our focus to some random things from the week and keep things light. It’s Friday!

1. The saga of the maternity clothes shopping continues. This was our guest room bed on Tuesday before SIX more boxes arrived on Wednesday. I have a lot of returns to do this weekend, but I successfully added this skirt and these white jeans to my maternity capsule wardrobe. I also kept this dress to have on hand for one of the now four weddings we have this summer.

2. Over the weekend I made a big batch of freezer breakfast burritos to have on hand this week because I was seriously craving McDonald’s breakfast burritos last week and I don’t think that’s the healthiest thing for baby. Of course, all I wanted this week was sweets in the morning so these are still sitting in my freezer. This weekend I’m going to make some breakfast bars, but I better make sure they are freezable just in case my cravings go back to burritos.

3. Last Friday I treated myself to a trip to Sephora specifically to pick up the no longer new Complexion Rescue from Bare Essentials. Verdict is I love it and it helps my Bare Minerals stay on all day long. I also picked up this mask in Green Tea and Rose. On Sunday night I used the Green Tea one and I absolutely loved it. I’ve been getting some breakouts throughout pregnancy but this helped my skin stay clear all week.

4. When it comes to balance I definitely still feel that it comes in seasons. The past few weeks have been focused heavily on work and I see a light at the end of the tunnel in a few weeks. In the meantime, I’m heads down focused on work and trying to prioritize myself as much as possible to stay less stressed.

Two key articles stuck out to me this week in terms of business- 5 Questions To Ask Yourself Every Morning To Advance Your Career and 5 Ways To Stay Positive When Negative People Drain Your Energy. I especially love #5 on the Forbes article because I feel like this is important, especially for those right out of college because moving forward takes one day at a time. And, in the Mind Body Green article I love, love, love #1- especially when it comes to Business, you just can’t take stuff personally because that will drive you crazy.

5. Last night long-time my friend Katie was in town from Ohio so we met up for dinner. I took her to the original Lou Malanti’s and it was SO nice to catch up. I’ve mentioned this before, but I really hit the jackpot with friends. Even though our group of high school best friends now reside in six different states-Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Washington- we all keep in touch.
