July Recap & August Goals

Good Morning!

July was gone in a flash and August is gearing up to be a crazy month! As I approach my due date, I’m doing my best to stay in the moment while getting prepared as I can. Dividing my preparations into monthly tasks helps me stay focused, plus remembering to take care of myself in the process and to look forward to the fun things in life is key!

Looking Forward To in August:

  • Celebrating my friend Jackie’s Bachelorette with a (virgin) Bloody Mary Brunch
  • Traveling to Seattle for one last pre-baby trip
  • Hosting our monthly ladies game night
  • Experiencing the Air & Water Show from Lake Michigan on a cruise
  • My Illinois Baby Shower
  • Hosting our August Book Club (this month we are reading The Rosie Project!)
  • Celebrating my 29th Birthday!

Baby Prep Goals:

July

  • Mail our baby shower invitations, check!
  • Set up a lesson with Penny’s trainer to go over baby preparations, on the plate for August
  • Attend Childbirth Prep Class, my 25 week appointment and my 28 week appointment, check!

August

  • Set up a lesson with Penny’s trainer to go over baby preparations
  • Logistical Tasks: pick a pediatrician, order my breast pump through insurance, file my maternity leave paperwork and have my 30 and 32 week appointments
  • Nursery Prep: the room is painted, but we need to clear out our “guest room” furniture and make room for all the items we’ll be getting at our showers

Self Care Goals:

July

  • Four workouts per week, including four yoga classes this month, I averaged three workouts per week in July and attended three yoga classes
  • Take advantage of a slower work/life month by enjoying lots of rest, getting back to the basics with meals and workouts and the summer weather!, check!
  • Plan a fun date night for Rich’s Birthday, check!

August

  • Four workouts per week, including four yoga classes this month
  • Treat myself to a new dress for my baby showers
  • Stay organized and remember to stay in the moment, this month is going to be a busy one with lots of social activities, baby prep to-dos and my work busy season gearing up, I’m going to have to take things day by day!

What are your goals this month?
