Ripped Jeans Revival

Here’s my technique for destroying the knees of your jeans, or rather gently speeding up the inevitable. No strange tools here – peps are becoming a danger to society with their cheese graters to hand!

Essentially if you decide to rip your jeans you’re doing something that would eventually happen if you kept on falling over all the time, bending your knees and washing your trousers. I suggest you do something as close as possible to that without breaking any knee caps.

Special shot out to Sophie who asked me to do this!

1. You will need : A pair of jeans, corse sand paper, a Stanley knife of scissors, tweezers and cardboard to protect the other side of the jeans.

2. With the cardboard inside the leg of the jeans, cut a small hole with your Stanley knife or scissors.

3. Rip the hole open wider.

4. Sand the edges with the sand paper. Use the tweezers to pull out any horizontal threads to add to the ripped effect. Put the jeans through the wash a couple of times to encourage fraying.

If you think that your jeans have reached their optimal ripped state I recommend putting a little fray stop on the edges!
