Dressing Made Easy: The Spring 2014 Capsule Wardrobe

Spring is possibly the most difficult season to dress for, because the weather is always so erratic. One day you’re walking around in sunglasses, and the next you’re back in your winter coat, cowering under an umbrella. Dressing appropriately – and looking good in the process – becomes so challenging that should be considered an Olympic sport!

But the Spring 2014 Capsule Wardrobe is here to help. If your closet is stocked with the following 7 items it should take some of the stress out of spring dressing. Here’s everything you need…

A pair of distressed jeans, like the ‘Ridley’ style available at ASOS and ASOS USA // A lightweight coat - this MICHAEL Michael Kors trench is a smart investment // Colourful sneakers or skater shoes (I’m obsessed with these New Balance kicks) // A cotton shirt that can be worn in the office or with jeans during the weekend – J.Crew’s jewelled style is my top pick // A fine-knit sweater, like this slouchy Topshop number // A simple shirt dress for work and play (this Iris & Ink design also comes in navy) // A pencil skirt to wear with just about everything – I love Warehouse’s floral-print option.

I’ve already made six outfits in my head using the above items, and that’s without adding any other wardrobe basics or trend-lead items.

Do you like the look of the Spring 2014 Capsule Wardrobe? Are their any items of clothing you would add or remove from the list? Let me know…
