Beauty Boost: Mio’s Workout Wonder

Ballet is hard. I speak from experience, because last weekend I took part in the Mio Workout Wonder program and attended a beginner’s class at Danceworks. Mio host monthly Workout Wonder days at the very best fitness classes in London and New York to encourage women to mix up their exercise routines.

The last time I attended a ballet class I was four or five, and “good toes, naughty toes” is the only thing I can remember from the experience. My friend Holly, who accompanied me to the Workout Wonder session, had progressed a little further in her childhood dance training and learnt how to “jump without thumping”. So we were both total newbies and walked into the dance studio feeling a little bit apprehensive.

We needn’t have worried, however, as it was loads of fun. I am possibly the most uncoordinated person EVER and found it pretty challenging, but it was such a good workout. My thighs ached for a few days after the class (we did a lot of pliés), so the Mio Liquid Yoga restorative bath soak came in handy. It’s a gorgeous blend of Epsom Salts, Arnica, and Sage, and it helps to relax tight muscles. I usually use it after my weekly yoga class and it was just as soothing post-ballet!

If you fancy taking part in the next Mio Workout Wonder day keep an eye on their Facebook and Twitter pages for updates. And if you’re a fitness freak make sure you check out Mio’s range of body care products, which are great to use after workouts. The range is available at Space NK.
