Channeling Amy Adams in American Hustle

Can you believe it’s been exactly a year since everyone started buzzing about Amy Adams’ performance in American Hustle? In the end the Best Actress Oscar went home with Cate Blanchett, but Amy definitely deserved an award for the most covetable on-screen wardrobe. I was absolutely mesmerised by her 1970′s outfits - which, along with

Jennifer Lawrence’s “science oven” rant made the film worth watching.

And when I slipped into this Boden dress Amy’s American Hustle character was my first thought. I paired the beetroot-pink jersey design with chocolate-brown knee-high boots, a felt fedora and a hint of faux-fur, playing into the glamorous seventies vibe showcased on screen.

Dress: Boden c/o (now on sale)
Boots: Stuart Weitzman c/o
Hat: H&M (in store only – similar online here)
Scarf: H&M (past season – similar here)
Clutch: Next (past season – similar here)

The Stuart Weitzman “Hijack” boots are a new edition to my wardrobe and will likely be glued to my feet until April 2015! They’re also available in black, but I opted for the brown version to avoid any Pretty Woman connotations. And because they can’t be worn with black opaques it’s meant I’ve had to step up my hosiery game this season – I’m excited to pair the suede boots with berry or burgundy tights instead.

Were you also obsessed with Amy Adams’ American Hustle wardrobe? Do you rate my take on the look?
