Royal Tour Day 10: Wellington/Sydney {LIVE}

It is the final day in New Zealand, and after ten days of beautiful scenery, adoring fans, and exciting activities, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are headed to Australia. While we will surely miss the Kiwi coverage, we can’t wait to see what Australia has in store! (Koalas?! Cheeks?!)

Today was a very busy day for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. In Wellington, they will visit the Royal New Zealand Police College, walk through the Civic Centre and sign the visitor’s book, before making a grand departure at Wellington Airport.

The 3 hour flight takes the royals to Sydney, where they will arrive, Cheeks in tow, on a Royal Australia Air Force craft. They will be whisked off to Sydney Opera House, where William and Kate will attend a reception.

Royal New Zealand Police College

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge began the day at the Royal New Zealand Police College in Porirua. Prince Charles opened the college 30 years ago. William and Kate’s visit will highlight the excellent work of the Royal New Zealand police force and the college.

Despite the truly awful weather, William and Catherine arrived just after 10 a.m. local time. Their first, and more important, event of the day was to pay respect to the 29 officers killed in the line of duty. This memorial was accompanied by a traditional Maori greeting and prayer.

Afterwards, the recruits will be put to the test as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge view a dog handling display and training session. They also met with the police dogs, especially Gucci and her two puppies.

Kate wore a blue tweed suit by New Zealand-born designer Rebecca Taylor. Kate previously wore the skirt suit in April 2012. She accessorized with navy blue suede pumps by Alexander McQueen.

The Duchess of Cambridge added a touch of sparkle to her outfit with her Cartier Ballon de Bleu watch and sapphire drop earrings. Her shiny locks were curled and styled in a half-up design, proving yet again that Amanda Cook Tucker is magical.

Walk Through Wellington

The second event of the day took the Royal Couple to the Civic Square at Wellington’s city centre. Blue skies magically appeared for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s final New Zealand walkabout.
