Trooping the Colour 2014

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, joined the rest of the Royal Family in today’s annual Trooping the Colour parade and ceremonies. This was her fourth year in attendance as a member of the Royal Family.

Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, but to ensure good weather for proper celebrating it is celebrated in June. At 10:30 AM, a parade of Royals travel down The Mall from Buckingham Palace.

The Queen receives a royal salute from the Household Calvary and inspects the Troops. Then, the Royals will return to Buckingham Palace for a 41-Gun Salute and a Royal Air Force Flyover.

Catherine joined the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry in a horse-drawn carriage for the processional, while Prince William rides on horseback along with the Prince of Wales and the Princess Royal.

The Duchess of Cambridge viewed the Horse Guards Parade and troop inspections from a window within the Horse Guards building. Then, she returned to Buckingham Palace in the same carriage.

For the RAF Flyover, the Royals congregate on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony. This sighting is an iconic image of the British Royal Family, standing together in the summer sunshine.

Up on the balcony, the Duchess of Cambridge enjoyed chatting with her family members and looking at the vast crowds. The family were treated to the annual flypast, a ceremonial tradition for many major events.
