They can replace the highly processed fast food that is so bad for not just our skin but our physical bodies. The nutritious combination of fruits, vegetables, proteins and healthy fats in these delicious smoothies are especially good for your skin, they are packed with essential fatty acids which calm puffiness and redness and loaded with antioxidants, which keep the wrinkles away and provide that perfect glow. Most of all, they’re a great alternative for a detox diet as many of the ingredients are alkalizing which help the body release skin-irritating toxins. I've tried and tested all these recipes which I did massive research months ago, they're delicious and they feel so good for you. So get your blenders and be ready to whiz some of these delicious recipes up!

Spinach Mango Smoothie

The best part of this smoothie is you can’t taste the spinach. But that is pretty much the same for many spinach smoothies. The sweetness of the mango gives you a tropical smoothie that immediately transports you to a holiday on an island.

Ingredients: 1 handful of spinach, 1/2 an apple, 1/2 a cup of mango, 1 stalk of celery, a handful of cucumber, half the juice of a lemon and 2 cups of water

Directions: Blend water with spinach before adding in the rest of the ingredients one by one.

Glowing Green Smoothie

Drinking this smoothie is a great way to incorporate greens into your diet, far more than eating vegetables. Because we blend the greens and fruit for easy digestion, your body is able to absorb more of the vitamins and minerals without working so hard. Thanks to all its nutrients and fiber, this smoothie is incredibly filling, so it keeps you from reaching for that midmorning second cup of coffee and that bagel you really didn’t want to eat. The banana, apple and pear provide the perfect balance of sweetness and nutrition that make this smoothie delicious to drink and the best part is you barely taste the greens. The chia seeds in this recipe have incredible beauty benefits, provide calcium, iron and protein to protect and maintain cell membranes, reduce inflammation and possibly protect against sun damage. This recipe is great to improvise with different greens like kale, celery, cilantro and other fruits like oranges. Drinking this everyday will definitely allow you to be on your way to the glowing beautiful skin you’ve been dying to have so make sure you have fun with this recipe!

Ingredients: 1 handful of spinach, 1 handful of lettuce, 1 stalk of celery, 1 apple, 1 pear, 1 cup of water and 1 handful of chia seeds (optional).

Directions: Blend water with spinach and lettuce, add celery and the rest of the ingredients and serve.

Strawberry Detox Green Smoothie
If you’re not already a fan of strawberries, you should be. Not only are they juicy, summery and delicious, they’re a bona fide superfood, too. Nutrient-rich and packed with antioxidants (like vitamin C). The power of vitamin C in strawberries continues, as it is vital to the production of collagen, which helps to improve skin’s elasticity and resilience. Since we lose collagen as we age, eating foods rich in vitamin C may result in healthier, younger-looking skin. Cucumbers are 95 % water, keeping the body hydrated while helping the body eliminate toxins. They also have most of the vitamins the body needs in a single day. Don’t forget to leave the skin on because the skin when making this smoothie as the skin contains a good amount of vitamin C. This smoothie is deliciously light and refreshing, perfect for a sunny afternoon accompanied by some fresh fruit!
Ingredients: 3/4 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup cucumber, 1 large banana, 1 1/2 cup of almond milk and 1 1/2 cup of spinach

Directions: Blend spinach with milk before adding in the rest of the ingredients one by one.

Blueberry Avocado Green Smoothie

Blueberry and avocado are surprising a delicious combination. Avocados are among the healthiest natural ingredients on the planet. They contain over 25 vital nutrients including vitamins (A, B, C, E, and K) and minerals such as potassium, iron and magnesium. They are filled with vitamin A which helps purging off any dead skin cells. The glutamine amino acid present in avocados cleanses your skin and offers it enough protection against harsh environmental factors. The antioxidants in avocados detoxify your body removing all the toxins that tend to lead your skin to age prematurely. It also helps eliminating the wrinkles giving your skin a youthful glow. Blueberries are also a great source of nutrition, their antioxidants soften dry skin and provide sweetness to this smoothie.

Ingredients: 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 an avocado, 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 a cucumber and 1/2 a banana

Directions: Blend all ingredients together and serve.
