ON MY SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME…

How in the world did we turn seven this year?!!!
I tell ya, the days and years just keep getting shorter. At least the good moments still last forever. This year I took the planning into my own hands and broke the normal dinner at a nice restaurant followed by a movie routine with something only slightly different. Baby steps people, baby steps. *wink, wink*

We put on our best hiking shoes, grabbed our warm jackets and said ciao to my sister who lovingly volunteered to watch our adorable trio of craziness. Then we headed over to my fave tri tip stop – Buckhorn grill – and took it on the road with us. One of the best parts of living where we do is all of the beautiful open space that sits happily just around the corner. With ample trails, picnic spots and parks all over the various open spaces it’s easy to pick a favorite and visit it often. My sister, the always explorer, introduced me to a little bench that sits ever so perfectly at the top of the hill overlooking the valley. I’d forgotten all about it until a few months ago when we went out location scouting for photo shoots. But as soon as I was reminded of it I new I had to make it back there some time soon. And our 7 seven year wedding anniversary seemed like the perfect time to take my man on a hike and just sit and chat for a while.

With our food secured in our awesome thermal tote we hiked the lovely trail and enjoyed our meal with a view and the peaceful calm of the hills and valleys. I timed it so we would be on the hill for sunset, and it was the perfect end to our out-of-the-box dinner and romantic time.

Year seven is traditionally copper, or wool, and while I seriously considered grabbing Eric a pair of wool socks from REI, I decided to go with something a bit more useful and nabbed him a tie clip. In exchange he surprised me with a piece of jewelry that I simply adore! A copper bracelet. For those who know us pretty well, you’ll know we’re a bit holistic and the added bonus of this bracelet is that it has magnets at the ends, which aid with blood circulation and joint pain. Something I’m sure I’ll appreciate down the road…

This anniversary is most definitely going in the books as the best yet.
I can’t wait for the many more to come with this amazing man of mine.

just love
