Christmas in London

There is something magical about the festive season, something that changes somewhere you have long been or visited into something completely new, giving you a completely different view on the world around you. As everyone gets into the festive mood, the cheer spreads through the crowds and everyone starts suffering with red cheeks that somehow make them look merry.

So what can you do in the capital, to make this Christmas, just a little bit more special?

Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park
Perfect for children and adults alike, this bustling winter wonderland features festive delights such as an ice rink, fairground rides, circus and ice forest, while those who fancy shopping can take some time to stroll around the Christmas market and hopefully pick up some Christmas gifts.

Christmas at Hamleys
For those with little peeps to entertain why not take them to meet the big man himself, before he heads back to his home to get ready for present delivery! Somehow he is managing to spend time at Hamleys right up until the 24th – he must have his elves working hard.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Richmond Theatre
Every year as a child I had to go and see a panto, it just wasn’t Christmas without one and this year you can pop and see a few different ones in London. However if you fancy some celeb spotting while you are at it, then Snow White might just be the one for you, as it sees Jerry Hall take to the stage as the wicked witch.

Check out the Christmas Lights
Where ever you go in London be it Oxford Street or Regents Street, Trafalgar Square or Covent Gardens, you are bound to be left looking around in awe at the beautiful lights there are to be seen, so why not take some time and take a stroll around the streets and see what gorgeous lights you come across.

Christmas Day
It may surprise you to learn that some things don’t stop in London for Christmas Day! Oh no Ripley’s London will still be open for you to check out all the weird and wonderful things they have on show, while the Peter Pan Cup will be held in the Serpentine lake brrrr I don’t envy those swimmers!

But most of all whatever you do this festive season – enjoy yourself.
