BA November Catch Up!

Can you believe it?!

36 more days til we bring in the new year.

Frightening!

E, it’s been almost a year since you were here in Buenos Aires!! ¡Que loco!

There are still so many things on my 2013 to do list!

I guess they’ll carry over onto VAMOS 2014? Like leftover cell minutes? Oh wait, they don’t do that here in Argentina. I guess I start over, then? Hmmm.

For now let’s distract ourselves with what’s been going on in BA.

As you know it’s November aka the best month in Buenos Aires.

People if you ever plan a visit to BA, come in November!

This is what November has been all about-

Spring colors. Spring clothes. Spring shoes.

Rooftop lunches & strawberries.

Long skirts and pool time outside of the city!

Babies.

Everyone is having babies!

Like for reals.

Babies and baby showers.

Congratulations and suerte.

Asparagus and gumbo are always stocked in my kitchen.

Gumbo during the warm weather? Yea, why not?!

It’s how we do it in NOLA where it’s always hot and humid.

Crazy events at the puerta cerrada are happening.

November has been busy.

And we bought a deep fryer!

Which welcomed Po’boy Night.

And Burger Night for crispy fries.

And Fried Chicken & Biscuits Night.

Next up- beignets.

After batch after batch of biscuits, I finally got the recipe I’ve been looking for!

A big thanks to Dave in Cali.

It’s all about the flour! And a hot ass oven.

These were my best batch yet.

We ate them with leftover braised roast beef and horseradish aioli.

I promise to share the recipe after I get Dave’s blessing.

A few purchases from Paul’s may have happened.

Mostly kitchen stuff and these dried flowers that are looking great in my room and on the tables at NOLA.

Walking the streets of Palermo is just too damn perfect with all the Jacarandas and Jasmine in bloom.

I’ve become slightly obsessed with Pain et Vin.

You could say their lentil salad and I have formed a rather intimate bond.

However my greatest discovery might be Cassandra May esthetician who just arrived to BA and gives the beeeeest hour long pedicures.
Yerba with mixed herbs, churros and the cookies from Fukuro have been my guilty pleasures….
According to the boys I have become the Queen at making pure de papas aka mashed potatoes.
A new burger arrived in Palermo at Burger Joint.
NOLA and Broeders Beer Night were featured in Time Out BA Spring/Summer edition.

Gracias, periodistas!!

And Momo el gato is shedding like crazy!!

Ciao winter coat, hello hairy floors!

So that’s been November.

A lot, no?!

I have left out the most important thing of all, ACUPUNCTURE!

Oh boy.

A separate post it shall be!

Happy Monday, y’all.
