GOODBYE STAINED GLASS, HELLO UPDATED DOORS

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw a few things: first, we spent our entire weekend staining our deck. It’s looking sooooo good, but man, is it a lot of work! Secondly, I’m starting another one of my month-long sugar/junk food fasts TODAY. Just in time for my birthday next week– great timing! It’s long overdue. Care to join me? I’ll be envisioning myself looking fly in my skinny jeans while I crave chocolate cake. Now if that doesn’t sell you on the idea, nothing will. I kid. This weekend, we also bid a final farewell to the Beauty and the Beast stained glass kitchen cabinet doors I so lovingly sang “Be Our Guest” to every time I passed. Here’s a look back, just for old time’s sake: I mean, look at that detailing. Like winter’s frost forming on a window pane. Note: frost on windows is really pretty when it’s real frost. It’s really ugly when it’s in the middle of your kitchen year round along with some mauve stained glass. But I digress… We carefully removed the glass by cutting along the side of the door (the silicon seal) between the door and the glass with a razor blade. With a little bit of work, we were able to pop the glass out without breaking it. We then painted the frames of the doors, while we were painting the rest of the cabinets. All of it was (…)
