Shades of Grey

“Home wasn't a set house, or a single town on a map. It was wherever the people who loved you were, whenever you were together. Not a place, but a moment, and then another, building on each other like bricks to create a solid shelter that you take with you for your entire life, wherever you may go.” ― Sarah Dessen

These are the first pictures I've taken in Los Angeles since I've worked with American Apparel back in 2011. I love the weather here. It surprisingly gets colder at night time then I remember. I went to the beach yesterday which was pretty nice but it doesn't beat the beaches in Florida. Those forever have my heart. Well I'm officially happy to be able to make my hair into a high bun. I've missed it for so long. I've been moving around a lot my whole life. First Florida, then New Jersey, then North Carolina, then back to Florida, and finally to New York. Nothing really felt like "home". When I wasn't doing fashion in Florida, I hated it. When I was away from my family, I hated it. I came to realize that the feeling of being home wasn't a set location, it's a feeling you have when you are doing what you love and have the people you love around you. I thought for a little while I wanted to move to LA but now that I'm here visiting, I don't really have the desire to. Changing location doesn't always make you happy. I think happiness for me would be able to still do my career in fashion while living close to my family, boyfriend, and best friend.
