Gingerbread making at The H Dubai

This has been a week of firsts for us. We attended our first tree lighting ceremony at The H Dubai. It was a lovely evening with some hot chocolate, carol singers, and a visit from Santa. In short, it was a fun event for Little Dude!

He kept wanting to open the presents under their beautiful Christmas tree, and it took a lot of persuasion to explain to him that those boxes were empty!

Another first for us, courtesy The H Dubai, was our gingerbread making experience. We received a lovely (and bigger than I expected!) gingerbread house, and some yummy looking candy and icing to decorate.

There was so much in front of us that we didn't know where to start, and Little Dude was busy eyeing the candy! A chef soon jumped in and gave us a head start.

Despite my poor piping skills, we managed to get our gingerbread house looking fairly nice.

What do you think of our creation? My thoughts were about the amount of candy that Little Dude would have access to and how I would have to prevent him from gulping all the sweets in a day!

Apart from this activity, the kids could also get their face painted and get balloons made. But there was another surprise in store - Santa himself paid us a visit!

This brings us to another first - Little Dude's first up close and personal meeting with Santa. He was a little shy at first, but the allure of a present was too much to stop him from sitting on Santa's lap!

They are offering Christmas In A Crate up to January 7, complete with turkey, stuffing, and all the trimmings. You can pick it up from the hotel, starting at AED 895.
Their Christmas Eve Dinner will be on from 7 to 11 pm, with a five-course meal being served. This is for AED 395 per person.
They also have a Christmas Brunch on Christmas day from 12.30 pm to 4 pm. This will include multiple carving stations, desserts, and a visit from Santa. Prices start from AED 350.
