My Shaken Summer

I’ve decided to shake up my Summer with Starbucks Teavana® Shaken Iced Teas.

For the first time since having children, I packed my bags earlier this week and headed to California to a food blogger event with six other bloggers. (More on that soon!) Well, it’s technically not the first time I left them for an event, it’s the first time I left them in the care of someone other than my husband. His schedule is crazy at the moment so his mom graciously offered to come and watch the menagerie. And I mean gracious in that she traveled the 14 hours from her home to do so. So very thankful for the opportunity to shake up my Summer and get away to do something just for me!

But before I could head out of town, it was time for a massive grocery trip to stock up to ensure everyone had what they needed while I was away. The first stop when I stepped through the grocery store doors? Starbucks. Whoever thought putting a Starbucks inside of grocery stores should be commended. I went shopping while the kids were napping so I treated myself to a cold drink while filling my cart.

I’m a huge iced tea drinker and instead of having my usual Tazo® Iced Green Tea, I decided to shake things up again and went with a new Teavana® Shaken Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade™. Because really, what doesn’t sound good about that? Peach? Yes. Green tea? Absolutely. Lemonade? Hello, summer! There was also a Teavana® Shaken Iced Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade™ and Shaken Iced Black Tea Lemonade™. Those were both immediately added to my “to try” list for my next childless grocery shopping adventure.

My drink of choice not only got me through the crowded aisle of the grocery store – the exact reason why I DON’T buy groceries on the weekend – but also through putting them away once I arrived home. Even with a huge storm blowing in that had us in the basement during a tornado warning later that evening. Perhaps that part was shaking things up a bit more than necessary!
