Spicy Hawaiian Barbecue Sloppy Joes

Ground turkey in a sweet and spicy pineapple habanero barbecue sauce is also flavored with red peppers and onions. It’s piled high on a bun before being topped with a slice of fresh pineapple and two slices of smoky bacon. These Spicy Hawaiian Barbecue Sloppy Joes are perfection in between two buns!

So apparently even though I tell people I’m not much of a sandwich person, I continue to create them and enjoy them. Perhaps I need to clarify and say I’m not a lunch meat type of sandwich person? And if there’s a type of sandwich that I without a doubt enjoy, it’s those that take just 15 minutes to prepare.

These Spicy Hawaiian Barbecue Sloppy Joes definitely fall into the 15 minutes to prepare category. That includes cooking the bacon! I refuse to fry bacon on a range but rather opt to roast it in the oven. This allows me to make the sloppy joe filling at the same time. Multi-tasking at it’s finest.

Another reason I’m able to get dinner on the table so quickly? A bottle of Robert Rothschild Farms’ new Pineapple Habanero BBQ Sauce from their new line of organic sauces. This is the second sauce from that collection that I have tried and they are so full of flavor that little else is needed to make a fantastic dish in minutes.

Sure the word spicy is in it’s title but don’t let that scare you away. All three of my children deemed them safe enough to eat after taste testing the filling prior to dinner.
