Weekly Clothes Updated

So one of my big goals for this year is to spend zero, zip, nada, nothing on clothes for the whole year. Yes, I know it seems crazy and maybe even a little too easy for some of you. I have to say that I am not a HUGE shopper. I hate trying things on in the dressing room, especially if I don't have on a full face of makeup and am not having a good hair day. Am I alone on that one or is that something y'all do too? So my go to idea of getting something new for an upcoming event or weekend would be to go to Target, Forever 21, or Banana Republic...stock pile on things I thought I may wear one day, stuff them in my closet and forget I had them.

This year, I borrowed the idea from my beautiful friend Sarah who I am linking up with today. I decided to use some of her guidelines to help me from falling into the "butttt I need that shirt so bad" trap. My way of keeping myself on track is to keep a journal. I'm hoping to journal 365 days worth of my outfits. I feel like this will allow me to see what types of clothes I wear most often, which shirts tend to be my favorite, and also how I can mix up the pieces I have to make it look like a brand new outfit.

Over the past week, I have to admit that I mostly stayed in my pajamas, or at least T-shirt and jeans so week one of my 2014 goal was a complete success. YAY me. But there were a few times I had to pick myself off the couch and leave my warm house so I took to instagram to show off what I wore. I love instagram because you post something that you aren't sure even goes together and BAM...people are "loving" your outfit and leaving comments which makes shopping my own closet even better.

This first outfit was one I wore for a date night with Michael. It has been pretty cold here in my little south Texas town but not cold enough to be completely bundled when I walked into our favorite restaurant. Those are my go to skinny jeans. I haven't been able to find any other ones that I like since I bought them like 2 years ago. Where did I find such an amazing pair of skinny jeans? Well Target of course. The shirt is actually a sweater/pull over from Banana Republic that has been sitting in my closet for well over a year and the scarf is from my sweet sister. I had yet to wear these fabulous boots with anything yet. I always worry what my legs look like with such tight pants on, but I bought these boots almost 3 months ago and gosh darnit I was wearing them for our date night.

On Saturday, I headed off to church and saw this shirt sitting in my closet. I ordered it online like 6 months ago to wear to school and when I got it, I thought that it was too short. I am an active teacher and am very concision about what will happen if I raise my arms or bend over. So it got stuck in the back with the tags still on until Saturday. I decided to try it tucked in, added a cheetah print belt that I haven't worn yet, and a cute necklace I won in a giveaway once. And wala...my new favorite outfit was born. Maybe it looks silly tucked in and with my baggy jeans but it is going to be a perfect outfit to teach in and can transition between seasons. YAY me 6 months ago.

I am no fashion blogger friends. I am just an ordinary 3rd grade teacher trying to rework clothes in my closet so forgive me for the awful quality of pictures and the pictures that are to come in more posts like this. I hope you'll still come visit me. And PS...how do you people take pictures in full length mirrors where it looks like your whole wall is a mirror? Because that wasn't working for me and that little mirror up there. ANYWAYS, happy Thursday eve friends. I hope it's the best one yet.
