It seems we can't get enough of honey in our beauty products right now, and with a number of new releases including the intensely hydrating ingredient, well it was only right we reviewed the highlights...
ANTIPODES AURA HONEY MANUKA MASK, £21.50
This honey-laden wonder has almost reached cult status, it's that popular. Manuka Honey is a well-known remedy in the brand's native New Zealand, the Maori people have been using it for years to solve common skin complaints. The ingredient is known to draw moisture to the skin, therefore making it a useful ingredient in hydrating products such as masks.
The intense moisture mask is to be applied to cleansed skin and left on for fifteen minutes, it contains vanilla pod and mandarin which are supposed to 'balance your aura', this keeps your mind calm and restored while the natural ingredients work on your skin.
The anti-oxidising mask cleanses and helps to moisturise the face; when applied it tingles ever so slightly which means it's getting to work on your dehydrated complexion.
It smells delicious and always leaves our skin looking perkier, brighter and clearer.
GOOD THINGS MANUKA HONEY REFINING SCRUB, £4.99
We've spoken about budget brand Good Things in the past, their effective range of skincare never fails to impress even us skincare snobs! They formulate their products without the addition of nasties, so there's no parabans, mineral oils or sodium laureth sulphate. Just Good Things, as they say.
This scrub is a new release from the brand, and Boots have got the scoop so for a limited period you can buy this gem for just £3.33! Time to stockpile.
The scrub uses manuka honey again to hydrate the skin, while the fine oatmeal particles detox the skin of any dead skin cells clogging pores and making the skin appear dull. It's actually very gentle on the skin and it feels lovely to apply - skin feels softer as you work it in.
The scrub really works to slough away impurities and ensure the complexion is looking clear and healthy. It's a great one for sorting out dry patches too - it's gentle enough to take care of them without irritating the skin. Oh, and it smells divine.
THE BODY SHOP 3-IN-1 HONEY & OAT MASK, £10
Similarly, The Body Shop have a 3-in-1 treatment that works to cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate the skin. Of course, it uses honey as one of the main ingredients and there's also oats to polish the skin and leave it free of impurities.
The treatment can be used once per week to improve the condition of skin; when applied it helps to refine the skin, improving the texture, detox the skin by sloughing away impurities and also provide a wash of moisture which in turn helps to improve the complexion.
It's a little more abrasive than the Good Things offering, but it's not rough on the skin - and it also smells gorgeous.
We love to apply it as a scrub first, then add a little extra on to the skin and leave for ten minutes to make the most of the ingredients. You could just use it as a scrub if you wish, however.
NUXE REVE DE MIEL STICK, £5.50
This all-natural offering is possibly one of the best lip balms going. NUXE are a luxury French skincare brand that have a pretty loyal following over on British soil too.
The Reve Di Miel range is just beautiful, the products use an incredible blend of Shea Butter, Argan Oil, Sunflower Oil and Honey to make a range of skincare treats that really repair and hydrate.
This lip balm stick has been tested in some of the coldest regions to ensure it protects against the elements and helps to soothe sore, chapped and dehydrated lips no matter what the conditions. The light balm coats the lips with the soothing formula without feeling heavy, and instantly relieves the dry symptoms.
It's a great handbag staple, we couldn't live without its nourishing powers!
THE BODY SHOP AFRICA HONEY & BEESWAX HAND & FOOT BUTTER, £10
Another Body Shop winner is this gorgeous pot of nourishing goodness for hands and feet; the treatment uses Community Fair Trade beeswax and honey ethically sourced from the Adamaoua region in Cameroon. The result is a dreamy product that instantly soothes and smoothes the skin, resulting in a non-greasy wash of nourishment that feels beautiful on the limbs.
Packaged in the cutest little pot and smelling just as delicious as you would imagine, this is definitely a must have for those who need a little bit of extra hydration for their hands and feet. It feels so luxe when applied and it nourishes skin like nothing we've ever tried before.
