NYFW S/S15 | Day 1 | Part 1

The verdict is in & you want the outfits & the rundown from Fashion Week mostly because you’re selfish but since I love you I’ll give you both. Just kidding, I was totally planning on posting both looks & deets of each day – CALM DOWN.

BOOHOO BRALETTE TOP c/o (SIMILAR) | H&M SKIRT | LULU’S HEELS c/o | LULU’S BAG c/o | GIGI NEW YORK BAG (RENT IT) | GORJANA BAR NECKLACE | TAUDREY DATE NECKLACE | WINK BRACELET | KAREN WALKER SUNGLASSES | STILA LIP in BERRY WINE

The first draft of this sucker was looong so I’m breaking it up into two parts to be shared over the next two days. Tomorrow’s post is coming at you EARLY (like 5am early) so be ready to strap in with your iced vanilla latte & enjoy the madness from Day 1.

Fun fact about this outfit: This look was originally supposed to be topped off with this sweater, in cream, which was slightly see-through so I paired it with the leather bralette. Done & done. BUT. After I weaseled my way into this skirt I realized that it was a liiiiittle too snug & it had to be worn higher than I had envisioned. So when I put the bralette on (as an under garment), it ended up covering the rest of my stomach making THE PERFECT Blaire Eadie-esque ‘separates-masquarading-as-a-dress’ situation. The whole bra-as-a-top thing is wayy out of my comfort zone so I spent a solid half hour (honestly, it was more) figuring out if I was ballsy enough to venture out in public. In the meantime, I missed the Jay Godfrey presentation that my roomies were so wonderful enough to get me into. I figured wouldn’t matter that much but did you SEE the presentation? Diez. Regret set in almost immediately. I sulked all the way to Tadashi but once his music starts bumping, I find my happy place. More on that tomorrow…

I’m leaving the fancy aliteration at the door for these posts so they’re easier to find when we’re trying to search for them later on. So you know (keep this one in your back pocket, fashionistas) “S/S 15″ stands for Spring/Summer 2015 > these are the looks that traipse down the runway during September. In February we see Fall fashions. Actual fashion week hosts the actual fashions you’ll wear the following season. That’s dumb, I want to wear them now. Patience is a virtue. Or so I hear. Designers do this so that buyers have time to select the items from the runway they want to order to place into their stores for us small people to shop. They also do this to mess with us; We know FULL WELL we won’t be able to get our hands on anything for months. I’m pretty sure that’s the actual definition of torture. So, in February these posts will be entitled, “F/W 15″ which stands for Fall/Winter 2015 > the fashions for Fall that will be showcased the previous February (Feb 2015). Confusing enough? Kay, great.

Catch a few peeks from my NYFW SS15 adventures on Instagram to hold you over till tomorrow. I promise. It’ll be worth the wait.
