Dear Annabelle // Six Months
Dearest Annabelle,
Happy half birthday sweet girl! How is it possible that you are already six months old?
It is astonishing how much you have changed in just one month. You’re wiggling around during tummy time like a fish and finally rolling over from tummy to back and back to tummy. You prefer to sit up most of the time though so you can see what everyone is doing. You reach for everything you see, and we believe that you might be crawling before you turn 7 months old. You’re quite the strong little girl. Just the other day you pulled yourself up in your crib and you stood while holding on to Daddy’s recliner. You laugh and screech when we tell you you’re being naughty.
You weigh over 16lbs and you are 28 inches long – the doctor always says,“Your Daddy must be tall!” because we all know you aren’t getting your height from Mommy. Most of your 6 month rompers don’t fit your little long body, so you are in some 9 month clothing already. You like wearing hats, but hate shoes and sunglasses. You like wearing dresses so you can pull them up over your head. At night, you love to sleep in your diaper or either pants or a shirt, but not both. Speaking of sleeping, you’re much more content at night now that Mommy isn’t eating dairy. Unless you’re having a teething spell, you are finally back to sleeping for 3-4 hours at a time.
This month you showed us how much you love the song, “Itsy Bitsy Spider” by always stopping whatever you’re doing to smile when you hear it. You know the sound of Daddy coming home from work and always get ready to have him chase you and Mommy around the house. You laugh and scream as he says, “I’m gonna get you!” and then giggle when he catches you to give you kisses. You like to dance when you hear music, especially when it’s coming from the “Bad to the Bone” card your Daddy got for his 30th birthday. You love playing with your musical puppy, tags that you find on anything and everything, and watches. You love watches for some silly reason.
Annabelle, your little personality is evolving so much. Your facial expressions and your eyebrows tell us all we need to know about your mood. You enjoy sticking your little tongue out at the nice old ladies in the grocery store for a second. Then you show them that gorgeous smile and they go on and on about your cuteness. We hope you never stop smiling because that little dimple of yours just makes us melt. We love hearing your little voice – whether it’s a scream of joy, a giggle, or you’re babbling “da-da-da-da,” the sounds you make are like music to our ears. Even the new whimper you do when you want something is adorable. Our hearts are overflowing with joy and love for you.
