What I’ve Learned…

Now that Annabelle is 6.5 months old, I thought it was time to reflect a little on some things I’ve learned since she was born. Every other day I’m thinking, “Wow! I never knew that…”

Sometimes babies suddenly won’t like their baby toys. They like the stuff they can’t have - the diaper wipes bag, a plastic spoon, or your dirty keys. If you don’t give the baby what they want, they will scream. It’s quite fun because they don’t understand NO yet.

Not all babies like their bottled milk warm. A likes her straight from the fridge or room temperature.

Even though your baby needs milk to survive, they can be allergic to it.

Babies have big boogies that sometimes need to be picked.

Doctors will tell you all sorts of crap to try with your baby. They say the baby will love it. However, the doctor can be wrong. Like rice cereal.

Just because your APP says your baby should be rolling over at four months doesn’t mean she has to be rolling over at four months. Annabelle has just figured out rolling 2 months late.

Teething takes a long time… even if they start to show signs, it might be weeks before a tooth shows up.

All babies grow at different rates – whether it’s size, weight, or developmental milestones, not one baby is the same as another. However, there are certain things that do happen at a pretty consistent rate.

Babies can change their mind about things overnight. One day they don’t mind the vacuum, the next day they SCREAM at the sight and sound of one.

If a baby screams until their face turns red, they are not dying. They could just be overtired. Or mad you took away the plastic bag they were trying to eat. Some babies have bad tempers at a very young age.

Your baby may love everyone they meet and then wake up randomly one day with stranger danger.

What are some funny things you’ve learned about your baby?
