Frozen Hot Chocolate

Frozen Hot Chocolate can be made quickly and easily! It’s chocolatey, cool and incredibly satisfying!

The worst part of vacation is when it ends. I know I just stated the obvious. Pre-vacation is fun. There are so many preparations to be made before you even think about taking off. All the planning, the reservations, the research, the packing (and repacking) that happens in the months, weeks and days that lead up to vacation. That’s the good stuff!

The drive to our destination is filled with laughter and smiling faces. The anticipation makes us quiver! We tell jokes, eat a bunch of snacks, and check out the states of the drivers around us. The whole experience is gleeful.

When we arrive at our vacation site, which is usually the beach, we literally drop our bags and run to dig our toes in the sand! We are filled with the knowledge that we have the entire week ahead of us! An entire week of fun in the sun. Time seems infinite.

By the time I need to do a load of laundry, which usually occurs mid-week, I become keenly aware that we no longer have a great chasm of time ahead of us. It morphed from a great expanse to a tiny fissure. Suddenly all I can focus on is the packing, the long haul home, the mountain of laundry that I will need to concur, the empty fridge, the bills that need to be paid and every other part of real life that waits for me like a big dead-end.

After a week home, it hardly feels like we ever left. Vacation becomes a distant memory. It’s so sad.

The only way to combat this sadness is with a frosty treat. A frosty treat that is rich and oh so chocolatey, like this frozen hot chocolate. See, frozen hot chocolate makes me think of vacation. It reminds me of total relaxation, the beach and the hot sun. It reminds me to slow down, to sip instead of gulp and to just enjoy the moment.

I love using International Delight as a secret baking ingredient! It adds flavor that I cannot get with milk alone! For more ideas, check them out on Pinterest!
