Roots Hummus: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow...

My most popular post to date is - 21 actions in reverse psychology to get your man to do stuff...

I was wearing my sarcasm hat when I wrote it, but it's very accurate. I am learning that this get your man to do stuff list also applies to the little man of the house.

#19 Try something he doesn't eat - say it's just for you.

I used to be able to ration this for almost a whole week using 2 TBSP of hummus and 1 loaf of Pita at a time.

I can only get it once a week. I've found it at one location here. It comes in on Wednesday evenings, and I pick it up on Thursday. If I go in on Friday, I've likely missed getting my favorite kind.

Here today, gone tomorrow

My first mistake was eating it while my "men" were home. To the question, "What's hummus?" I said, "It's smashed beans, you won't like it." Then came the no turning back response, "Go ahead" when they asked to try it.

So now it's a community snack, it's here today, and gone tomorrow because I now use four loaves of Pita just so I can get my portion.

I wouldn't be able to make this delicious hummus if I tried, but I can tell you how to make your own pita chips.

Pita Chips

Use Olive oil and rub generously into one side of the bread. Sprinkle lightly with Kosher salt. Cut pita into wedges, (I use a pizza roller), then bake on 350 for 12 to 14 minutes.

Disclaimer: Eat with family around at your own risk

Here's the thing to be added to 21 actions in reverse psychology to get your man to do stuff...

#22 - Get them to eat their own snacks - buy double of your snack.

Pita & Hummus anyone?
