Saturday Share No. 2

This week has been a little less hectic than last week. Thank goodness. We are starting to get into the routine with Lincoln and he is starting to learn our routine as well. It's amazing how fast they grow and learn!

CREATED & SHARED

My first project share this week was one of my new Elle's Studio layouts - Love Your Smile. It was posted to promote her August Kit Reveal as well as the August DT Gallery Reveal. I also shared a Stitching With Twine Tutorial that explains how I used twine to stitch on my scrapbook page.

I had a personalized Back To School Binder up on the 3 Birds Blog. I enjoyed the challenge of using the various speciality papers they create. Especially the vellum. I honestly struggle when it comes to using vellum, so I was quite happy with the outcome of this project.

Lastly, I had a project on the BoBunny blog. I created a coordinating Baby Card and Gift Bag using the BoBunny Baby Bump collection and their Kraft Bags. Making things that have a purpose always helps inspire me. This set was made for my neighbor who is expecting a baby girl in December.

This week as a journeyed around the web, I came across a wonderful selection of projects and ideas that inspired me.

INSPIRED BY - INSPIRATION IS ALL AROUND YOU

First up this layout by Missy Whidden for My Mind's Eye, absolutely blew me away. The cut file she used is what first caught my attention, but how she incorporated all of the wood grain papers and wood embellishments really drew me into the design. They provide a wonderful contrast to the bright pink outfit that her daughter is wearing. It really reminded me how stark contrasts can catch your eye and hold it.

The simplicity of these hand crafted paper clips got my braining going and they made me want to play with my paper and stuff! I mean, really, how cute are these? I'm hoping to make some of my own soon to add to an upcoming project.

I've seen lots of cute uses for paint chips, but for some reason the contrast and simplicity of this card design by Amy Tsuruta grabbed my attention. Maybe it's the kraft background, maybe it's the fabulous green color, or the clever use of the die cut. No matter the reason, it certainly said HELLO to me!

Last by not least, quilling just makes me happy and so does this gorgeous card by Neli. Her work is so inspiring and it really makes me want to spend more time creating quilled works of art.

Oh and just in case you were wondering, I am already getting in the mood for Halloween! I can't wait to start working on decorations for our Halloween party. This faBOOlous Halloween Wreath by Grandin Road caught my eye and got my creative juices flowing. I want to try my hand at making something like this myself!
