Baby's Advent Calendar

Good morning and welcome to the blog today. I have at last finished Edie's Advent Calendar. Thank goodness she is only five months old and doesn't realise I'm a wee bit late with it!
I've used a Tivoli MDF unit from Tonic Studios and kept it very girly with the choice of papers. These are ones I've had in my stash for a long time but I thought they would be perfect for this project and I'm really happy with the results. They are what I would call an 'icy' pink and soft green combo with little accents of darker green and gorgeous snowflake swirls.

The papers are from Daisy Bucket and are called 'Wrapped Wishes' and I just love the colour palette. I've painted the unit with metallic silver acrylic paint and used matt silver board for the numbers and back plates on the drawers.

I've painted the drawers alternately in white and pink. The unit is painted inside and out and then totally sealed with Forever Memories Matt Adhesive also from Tonic Studios.

A sideways view

Well, I couldn't very well leave out the other side now could I? LOL
The tiny teddy and the rocking horse are ornaments I unearthed at our local garden centre and they are firmly glued into place. I've left room for my daughter to add any other little bits and pieces she might like. Obviously as Edie doesn't yet know the joy of chocolate, I've filled the calendar with Lindt truffles so that her Mum and Dad can enjoy the approach to Christmas each day. I hope you are really enjoying your units if you bought any from C & C. They do take a little time but are so worth the effort. :)
Here's a wee peek at the other two that I've already blogged. They can look so different with just a change of colour and papers. The units are really sturdy and I look forward to using mine for many years to come and I hope my grandchildren can do the same. :)

Thank you for calling in today. Have a great Friday and a super week end.
