Nominated for the Liebster Award! Part 1

Hello friends!
I recently received an email from Cindy at DIY Beautify explaining that she had nominated me and my blog for a Liebster Award!
I had no clue what that even was, so I searched a little and read Cindy's post about it. Check out her post explaining it all here.

Sounds pretty fun, eh?
First of all I have to tell you all 11 interesting things about myself. So here we go!
1. I am a Christian. I chose to give my life to Christ and become a follower of Jesus. I have faith that He is in control of my life and has a plan for me, so I never really worry anymore. I know He has my back! I may get a little stressed at times, but I know at the end of the day it will always work out.

My awesome kids!
2. I am a total neat freak! This is probably no surprise! I have had to really work on letting the little things go and just enjoying every moment! No need to stress out when a few things are out of place. I'm still working on it! I think I probably have major OCD. My children are definitely helping me through this process! It's way more fun to play with them instead of just walking behind them picking up everything they drag out. The time I have with them is precious and I am more aware of that with each passing day.

Where we play!
3. I do not watch very much TV. I rarely ever turn on the television to watch something for myself. I would be perfectly fine if we didn't own a television. My kids love to watch their shows, especially in the mornings while they are waking up, and my husband watches it in the evenings after work. It seems like the television is always on around here, but I never pay much attention to it. I would rather curl up in my spot with a good book, or catch up on my favorite blogs when I have extra time to myself.

My favorite spot to relax and read
4. I have super curly hair. And I can't stand it! I blow dry it almost every day and smooth it out with a flat iron. When I see other people with curly hair I love it, but when I let mine go curly I feel so weird all day. I like to be able to run my fingers through my hair.

Straightened hair!
5. I am terrified of bees. Any kind of bee scares me to death!
6. I love to exercise but I hate to run! I have always hated running. I love doing Pilates, and I started the Brazilian Butt Lift dvd series a while back. It's a good workout! I have trouble committing myself to it the way I should though! I kind of make up my own schedule instead.
7. I love being "mom" while still working a little on the side. I love being able to stay home and be here for my children, but I also love that I can work a little on the side here from my house in my salon. It keeps my life well balanced.

My salon at home!
8. Our family sport is racing. My husband loves to race. He races anywhere and anytime he can! Asphalt, dirt, whatever! We love to go watch him and cheer him on when we can! I am able to go a little more often now that our kids are a little bigger. :) He is actually in the process of building a garage here at our house so he can be home more. I will share that one of these days. It's still under construction.

9. I am afraid of our basement stairs at night. I know this sounds crazy but if it's dark outside and I have to walk up the basement stairs I always hold my breath and hop up them as fast as I can. I always feel like someone is following me. I told you it was crazy, just being honest!
10. Our son is a miracle baby. The birth of our son was very traumatic. To make a long story short the umbilical cord prolapsed during his delivery and there was no time for a C-Section. It is truly a miracle that he survived with no complications. I can't wait to see what God has in store for his life. It must be something big!
11. I completed four years of college before going to hair school. Yep, it's true. I spent a lot of time in college working towards something I had absolutely no interest in. I finally decided to do what I wanted to do and went to cosmetology school. It took 9 months and I was done! I don't regret college at all though because I met some really great people along the way, but I am glad I ultimately decided on a career choice that I love.
I'll be back soon with Part 2 where I will answer 11 specific questions Cindy has given me, followed by my 11 chosen nominees.
Have a BLESSED evening everyone! Leah
