Seth Casteel Helps SitStayRead

Famed photographer Seth Casteel’s latest book of portraits featuring pups taking the plunge made a big splash when it was unleashed on September 16th, and soon a celebration of Underwater Puppies will help at-risk kids immerse themselves in the pages of a good book, thanks to a little help from therapy dogs.

Recently embarking on a tour to promote the follow-up to his New York Times bestseller Underwater Dogs, Casteel will make a stop at Integrative Pet Care in Chicago, Illinois on September 21st to share pet photography tips and autograph copies Underwater Puppies, with book sales from the Fido-friendly event benefiting SitStayRead, a non-profit organization which strives to improve the literary skills of inner city youths who benefit from reading aloud to a nonjudgmental audience– certified reading assistance dogs.

Known for focusing the public’s attention on paws causes, for the 115-page book the philanthropic photographer (and doting pet parent to Nala, a former shelter dog) aimed his camera at many rescue canines– all of whom now have forever homes. At the end of the promotional tour for Underwater Puppies, Seth Casteel will once again take part in a tour which helps shelter animals when One Picture Saves a Life stops in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 1st.

Admission: Free (Copies of Underwater Puppies will be available for $21)

When: September 21, 2014 from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
