Stars Take Adoptable Dogs to Cause for Paws Treat Suite

Some of the brightest stars in the entertainment industry are happily stepping into supporting roles to shine a spotlight on the option of pet adoption in the upcoming Fox special Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular. In honor of the program Backstage Creations produced the Treat Suite at The Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, where an array of animal-loving luminaries escorted rescue Rovers to gather up goodies for the dogs to take home to their new forever families, including items from Petco, Spin Master, Zuppies and Paw Patrol, Wisdom Panel, Febreze, Swiffer, Banfield Pet Hospital and the Cesar Millan Foundation.

Doggedly devoted to helping our four-legged friends in need turn the page to a new chapter in their lives, Emmy and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth was among the stars who checked out Banfield Pet Hospital’s recently unleashed children’s book, My Very, Very Busy Day. The tale of two tail-wagging chums enjoying a day filled with play, tasty treats, nap time and a six-month check-up visit to the veterinarian includes a foreword by Oscar-nominated actress Quvenzhane Wallis, who will soon star in the cinematic remake of Annie.

Actor David Arquette, who welcomed a Basset Hound from Last Day Dog Rescue into his heart and home during the 2012 Thanksgiving weekend, was happy to learn that Swiffer would be making a donation to Petfinder in his name.

Actress Olivia Munn, who found her new barking buddy during the filming of the television special, said of the Cesar Millan Foundation’s sterling silver dog bone necklace: “I love gifts that benefit charity, and this necklace is perfect for dog lovers.” Proceeds from all of the items in the Cesar jewelry line benefit the Daddy DEAR Fund, which helps animal in emergency situations.

The news that Dancing with the Stars judge Julianne Hough is taking part in Cause for Paws has her Fido-loving fans dancing on cloud nine.

A proud pet parent to a Pit Bull named Ramona, comic star Whitley Cummings made friends with several dogs during the filming of the upcoming special.

Along with two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank, Glee star Jane Lynch is co-hosting Cause for Paws, which will air Thanksgiving night on Fox at 8/7c.
