Soap & Glory Glow Job

I’m all about the fresh, radiant skin going into Spring and Summer. I think everyone wants their skin to look young and healthy and there’s a whole host of products out there which can help you achieve that. On a recent Boots hauling sesh, I meandered through Soap & Glory’s skincare offerings – they seem to be really raising the bar with their specialist products and after falling head over heels in love with their hot cloth cleanser product (review here), I wanted to find out more about the rest of the range.

I’m a big fan of multitask products that make our lives easier in the mornings. At the moment I’m trying to minimise my morning skincare routine so it’s as beneficial, effective and efficient as possible! I doubt I’ll have a lot of time for morning pampering sessions when I have a screaming baby to contend with! When I spotted the Soap & Glory Glow Job product, I figured it would be a great product for moisturising, evening out my skin tone and giving me a fresh glow all in one hit. In other words, a time-saver!

“Soap & Glory’s Glow Job™ is a tinted face moisturiser and an instant wash off self-tanner, featuring MICRO BRONZEBURST™ BEADS that ‘pop’ when you massage them. The coverage is sheer and leaves an irresistibly healthy, ‘weekend-away’ glow that enhances any complexion.
• MICRO BRONZEBURST™ BEADS – micro-encapsulated bronzing pigments, which release a subtle (but buildable) tint of colour when blended into the skin on application, leaving a natural, sheer glow
• RASPBERRY STEM CELLS – a super moisturising, youth-enhancing, elasticity-boosting extract (berry flux patented) from cultured raspberry stem cells
• ANTIOXIDANT VITAMIN E – skin toning, rejuvenating and moisture-boosting – also important for preventing damage from UV exposure”

Below you can see exactly how the product works. You only need a small amount for the whole face and on close inspection you can see the tiny spheres of colour within the formula. When you begin to blend the product out it initially looks like any other moisturiser, but once you start to blend it into the skin more, you will see the colour start to develop. It’s a very light golden glow that, once rubbed in, looks very natural with no shimmer in sight. It has a light texture that sinks into the skin without too much fuss and leaves no greasy or tacky feeling.

I have found that this product is a great base for makeup for those days when your skin needs a boost or when you have used self tanner and it has worn off your face more than your body (this tends to happen if you exfoliate the skin on your face). It adds just the right amount of colour to make your skin look healthy and glowing. I think this product would be great for people with light/medium to medium skin but girls with very fair skin may want to swerve this product as it could possibly look slightly orange on you.

This would make a fantastic holiday product if you want to keep your makeup minimal – the only downside being that it doesn’t contain any SPF so you would have to apply that beforehand.

When I first saw this Soap & Glory product, I instantly thought of an old favourite of mine – the Estee Lauder DayWear Sheer Tint-Release Moisturiser. I absolutely love that product and I was excited to find a cheaper dupe. As I said the only thing that the Estee Lauder one has over the Soap & Glory Glow Job is an SPF15 rating. Otherwise, they are virtually identical – the Estee Lauder one has a slightly more hydrating effect but not enough to sway me to pay the extra for it. I actually prefer the scent of the Soap & Glory Glow Job as it contains sweet orange peel oil that gives it a lovely smell for morning application.

Another thumbs up for Soap & Glory!
