SUMMER NIGHTS BY THE FIRE

This past weekend was a long one, so I got to spend a lot of time with my family which was incredibly nice. I've always been very close with my parents, so whenever I get time to relax and enjoy life with them, I find it a moment to appreciate.
My dad bought a fire pit a few weeks ago and we finally put it to use this weekend. One of my absolute favourite things are campfires, but when you live in the city, it's quite hard to have a campfire because of regulations and such. But thankfully due to technology, we got this awesome propane fired fire pit, and it's fantastic. You miss out on the smell of a campfire, but in a way I don't mind because the smell usually ends up lingering in clothes for ages and there's just an excess of washing.

We ended up roasting marshmallows and cooking potatoes over the fire. Potatoes cooked this way are literally the BEST THING EVER. Honestly, the taste is entirely different than regular potato preparation because no water or oil is used. The potato ends up looking like a black lump, but when you cut it open, it's amazing goodness inside.
