A Napa Bachelorette Party

My bachelorette party was last weekend. And it rocked! Many, many thanks go to MOH M. She planned the entire thing with minimal input from me. All I said was that I wanted to do a Yountville (Napa Valley) trip, and she planned the entire thing.

The beauty of Yountville is that it’s one of the most walkable cities in the Napa Valley. There are 12 tasting rooms within the town proper, and 10 restaurants.

We started out the day picking up libations:

And then headed here:

Napa Valley Lodge / Fun Fact: This is the same hotel chain that Mr. BC took me to after he proposed. It was a neat coincidence that M picked the same chain.

Yountville at Christmastime was so beautiful. There were Christmas lights up all over buildings and trees. There was a horse drawn cart lit up with Christmas lights that would circle around town with passengers in it enjoying the crisp evening. (Fun fact: It’s way less fun driving behind the horse and cart (rather than gazing at it from the sidewalk)!) I think it was Santa Con while we were there because there were people dressed up as Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, etc., all over the place.

Here’s a little sampling of the town at night, although the pictures do not do it justice:

Anyway, back to our story. After arriving in Yountville, we met up with the rest of the girls, and our first stop was Groth Vineyard:

M, N, J, and me

I felt really fancy here because the tasting room is by appointment only; you cannot walk in for tastings. We got a private table and a dedicated employee to pour our wine. He also gave us a tour of the barrel room and took us to the behind-the-scenes parts of the tasting room.

Next stop was Hestan Vineyards

BM L joined us a little late. She arrived while we were at Heston. Fun fact: Our names all start with: J, K, L, M, and N.

Hestan was awesome, and the lady taking care of us was so sweet. She gifted me with a bottle of wine of my choice as we were leaving. (Wear your swag, ladies! We got hooked up pretty decently since everyone knew it was a bachelorette party.)

And then…Girard.

There’s not a whole lot to say. We drank wine, goofed off, and had fun.

By this point we were starving, so we walked over to dinner:

We had to wait a long time for a table, but ended up getting complimentary champagne and an appetizer:

So while we waited for the table, silliness ensued…

We finally got seated:

And it was worth the wait!

Fun fact: During our meal, I’d consumed about half of my cocktail when the waiter came by with a new, icy glass and poured my drink into the new glass. So classy. I felt like a rock star.

We were stuffed after dinner and skipped dessert. By this point it was around 10:00 PM, and much wine had been consumed, so we called it a night. (I am such a grandma.) M and I were the only ones who decided to stay overnight, so we said our farewells and headed back to the hotel room.

We may have had one more drink…

Total side note: I made bachelorette party “survival kit” goodie bags for my friends:

Water, Tylenol, Advil, electrolytes, granola bar, trail mix, hand sanitizer, hand cream, Lip Smackers, face mask

Fun (?) fact: I bought really cute favor bags at Target. But when I got them home and opened the package, I discovered that they were more like favor envelopes. They were so tiny. So since that was a bust, I had to package the goodie in Ziplock freezer bags (womp, womp). Not cute, but it got the job done.

The bags were a huge hit. Everyone really appreciated the snacks. Especially since we didn’t end up eating dinner until really late. I also got props for the Advil and hand sanitizer.

Stay tuned for day two. (Spoiler alert: It was a lot more mellow.)

Did you get hooked up on your bachelorette party? What would you have liked in a goodie bag? Does anyone else take selfies at BevMo?
