Fired Up Friday – Fear is a Choice

I’ve heard profound book ideas that died without a word written.

I’ve watched incredible business ideas die without a single product or service created.

I kid you not, I’ve built blogs for people who let them rot without creating a single blog post.

Why?

I believe many people, maybe you, confuse fear with danger.

Like Will Smith’s character said in After Earth, Fear is a product of your thoughts. It is imagined.

The fear that your podcast will not attract listeners is literally a figment of your imagination.

The fear of readers rejecting your blog posts? Not real. The only place it’s happening is in your mind.

The fear that your business won’t succeed is a prediction. It isn’t real.

Danger, as you know, is different. Stepping out of an airplane at 10,000 feet is dangerous.

Napping on train tracks is dangerous.

Writing an anti-regime blog in Iran is dangerous.

Danger will end you. Fear will end you too but it’s likely to do it slowly as you turn your fear into reality and let it strangle your dreams.

Remember that fear is a choice, be brave or stockpile regret. It’s up to you.
