Life Is Good
Hello everyone! Life is good, and I hope that you can say the same. Last Friday made one month since I started my new job at a local college. I really love working there. With each passing day I become even more happy about it. Blessings are overflowing in extreme abundance and I am forever thankful.
My house redecorating is still moving along.
Do you recall this white double fireplace mantel in my front parlor room? It is now in my kitchen. About a week ago I went to Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I was not planning on buying anything. I was accompanying a friend, and she was the one looking for something to buy. She spotted a beautiful mantel for only $90. She couldn’t use it though because her house does not have any fireplaces, so she brought it to my attention. It is truly gorgeous, and I did need it. My house has six fireplaces in it (not that any of them work). The original marble mantels were ripped out of it years before I bought the house. I had only managed to purchase two mantels previously. Now I have a third one. It isn’t a double mantel like the white one is. I do prefer double mantels, but it would not have been smart to pass up the one at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. If it was in an antique shop it would have costs a lot more than $90.
Since I started working again I do not have nearly as much free time anymore. I am finding it challenging to blog as much as I used to. It wasn’t an issue when I was working before at my old job. For some reason now I am struggling to find the time to blog the way I really want to. My life has changed so much. I need to reorganize how I spend my free time now.
I did finish The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness. I hope to find the time to review it this coming weekend.
I am hoping to find time to see the movie Belle this coming weekend. Belle is a true story based on the woman in the painting below.
Dido Elizabeth Belle was born to a wealthy white father and African mother. In this painting she is seen with her half-sister.
The weather has been so beautiful this summer. To me it is PERFECT! I would love to know what you have been up to this summer so far.
