Last weekend I was in Montreal for another spiritual retreat. I left last Friday morning, so I enjoyed three days of deep spiritual enlightenment. I loved it!

I returned to New York temporarily lows on funds. Canada is a beautiful country, but everything is very expensive. And, if you think we are taxed to death, then go to Canada and see how you like being taxed over there. This retreat did not include meals, so I spent a lot of money on food. I also spent money purchasing meditation CD’s and other items. When all was said and done I ended up spending close to $500.00 while I was in Montreal. I budgeted for spending a lot less than that. Additionally, I paid quite a few bills before I left for Montreal, so this week and next week I really have to watch my cash flow until next pay-day. I am really not liking getting paid on a bi-weekly basis. For years I was used to weekly paychecks. I will get the hang of it, but I sure do miss getting paid every week. Anyway, I am very happy with everything that I bought, and the retreat was awesome.

It is so nice gathering with others who are on the same spiritual path that you are on. People came from all over the USA and Canada. There were also people from Ireland and Australia. I wish I had spiritual partners here in my local area. Sometimes I feel so isolated not being able to gather with others locally to share our path. Instead I have to rely on these retreats a few times during the year. I find that having a local spiritual community to be so important, but so far, I don’t have that here. I am hoping that will change some time in the near future.
