Open House at PDX Resale & Gallery Macabre
This Saturday PDX Resale & Gallery Macabre are having an open house and opening party for Chris Andrea and Lenny Oldeboom. Chris Andreae is an artist who combines found objects in nature with taxidermy both wearable and decorative. For this particular show, she has a collection of wearable art pieces that have small taxidermy pieces incorporated into the design. Expect to see millinery for both dogs and humans, macabre fascinators, and some sculpture, all for viewing and for sale.
Lenny Oldeboom is a composer, musician, photographer and artist living in the Netherlands. He will be showing one-of-a-kind jackets that he's painted, of which 7 will be available for purchase.
The shindig will include music by The Sea Charms, and word on the street is that KBOO radio host of "The Confessional" Contessa De La Luna will be making an appearance as well (although her identity still remains a mystery, so maybe her voice will be heard over the P.A.?). We'll just have to see!
If preserved and sometimes stuffed animal remains don't totally gross you out, this is sure to be interesting. I can honestly say I've never seen anything like this done before. (That's not to say it hasn't been, it's just a first for me).
