Diarrhea Planet and Jeff The Brotherhood at Santos Party House (October 13, 2014)

A few weekends ago Diarrhea Planet and Jeff The Brotherhood played what looked to be an insane show at Death By Audio (see Andrew’s photos from that here). The next night took them over to Manhattan where they played a packed Santos Party House.

Diarrhea Planet played first, and they’re always a furiously fun time live. Their four-guitar assault always takes over a crowd and gets them going some kind of wild. They had fun with their set, letting their tour photographer Pooneh Ghana join them on guitar for a track, and then going into a pretty awesome cover of Third Eye Blind’s “Semi-Charmed Life.” A new album is looming soon, which I can’t wait for, because it just means these guys will be back on tour again.

Jeff The Brotherhood were up next and kept the high energy guitar assault going. With fog being pumped out behind them on stage, they had a more psych atmosphere going on, but that still didn’t stop a seemingly non-stop group of fans, of all ages and genders, from partaking from crowd-surfing antics. It was my first time seeing the group live, and they sounded tight. A good pairing with Diarrhea Planet for sure, who actually sent out a few members to help rock out for a track (along with a member who came out in a wizard costume). It was a night where garage rock and roll lived and thrived and was left on the floor to be remembered long after.

Find some photos from both performances posted below.
